Awaken Coffee Roasting

Ádám Dobos founded Awaken Coffee Roasting in 2016 in Tata, a small town halfway between Budapest and Győr, making it one of Hungary's first dedicated specialty coffee roasters. He launched the roastery with mentorship from Patrik Rolf Karlsson, the Brewers Cup World Championship finalist and founder of Copenhagen's April Coffee, who traveled to Hungary to help set up the operation. Awaken works exclusively with coffees scoring at least 84 points on the SCA's 100 point scale, organizing its range into five categories that progress from approachable classics through to limited edition nanolots from rare varieties and experimental processing methods. The roastery's sustainability commitment is built around long term partnerships with the same farms and processing stations year after year, with a stated goal of eventually sourcing directly from producers as the business grows. Dobos also offers fully biodegradable Nespresso compatible capsules and dried cascara alongside whole bean espresso and filter roasts, broadening access to specialty coffee for customers across Hungary and beyond.
