Scenery Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This is a exceptional Gesha variety coffee from the Las Etiopes farm in El Porvenir, Jaén, Cajamarca, Peru, grown at 1950-2050 meters altitude by Simon Brown and Merlith Cruz. The coffee undergoes an innovative Bioreactor + Mosto Anoxic Natural process, involving 24-hour anoxic fermentation with cultured mosto derived from landrace variety mucilage, followed by 30-35 days of slow solar drying. The cup profile is remarkably apricot-forward, displaying expressions of apricot juice, dried apricot, and apricot jam, with aromatic notes of ripe mango and lime zest. As it cools, the coffee reveals blueberry yoghurt, strawberry, white florals, and donut peach, supported by background notes of raw honey, bergamot, orange blossom, and dragon fruit.

Scenery Coffee Roasters

Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
