Taith Coffee

About This Coffee

This coffee is from the Lunar Coffee Washing Station in the Rwenzori Mountains of Western Uganda, specifically from Rubirizi Hill in Kirabaho, Kitswamba Sub-county, Kasese District. The SL-28 variety is grown at 1600-1800 meters altitude in rich red volcanic soil. Processed using the anaerobic natural method, cherries are picked at 18-24° Brix, floated and hand-sorted, then fermented for 60 hours in Jacky Bins with pH maintained between 3.8-4.5. The coffee is dried for 10-15 days and covered during the hottest hours to prevent rapid drying. Flavor notes include baking spices, caramel, and plum.
