This medium roast blend combines coffees from Sumatra and Colombia. The blend uses washed and wet-hulled processing methods. It features flavor notes of cherry chocolate, peanut brittle, and mellow spices, with tasting notes of cherry, milk chocolate, and vanilla. The coffee has a light body.
Uncommon Coffee started as a cafe in Saugatuck, Michigan in 1994, founded by Guy Darienzo and Stephen Keye. In 2021, after 27 years under the original owners, the business was acquired by Bruno Nobre and Mauricio DaSilva, both from multi generational coffee farming families in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. They had previously supplied beans to Uncommon as partner farmers, making the transition from grower to roaster a natural one. The roastery now serves over 200 businesses across the Midwest. Uncommon is farmer owned and minority owned, and operates with a goal of being landfill free, using BPI certified compostable cups and sleeves throughout.
