About This Coffee

This single origin espresso is from Rwanda's Nyamagabe region at 1800-2000 meters altitude. The Red Bourbon variety is washed processed at Nyarusiza washing station, located in the Kamageri Sector of Nyamagabe District in Rwanda's Southern Province. The coffee is produced by smallholder farmers who are members of the Kawanziza Farmer's Group and deliver cherry to Buf Coffee company. The cup profile features cranberries, maple syrup, and Chinese dried dates/jujubes. Quality control is overseen by station manager Celestine Uwizeyimana and Head of Quality Control Eugenie Kanakuze.

After more than eight years of preparation, Manta Ray Coffee Roasters opened their flagship roastery in Nunawading, Melbourne, in October 2022. The industrial chic space features a visible roasting area framed by large windows, inviting visitors into the process. Drawing on a background in film color grading, the team approaches roasting as a form of creative expression, seeking to reveal depth and character in every batch. Award winners at the 2019 Roasters Smackdown and 2023 ASCA competitions, they offer their signature Outsider Blend alongside rotating single origins and an automated pour over experience at the bar.
