This blend combines seasonal single origin coffees from Brazil and Ethiopia. The Pau Brasil component from the Cerrado region is a natural processed coffee providing rich chocolate notes reminiscent of a chocolate bar. The Organic Ethiopia Limu Grade 2 from Guji, Orimia farm offers sweet berry notes that taste like berry jam. The blend is 100% Arabica coffee roasted to a medium level for a smooth, round body and well-balanced sweetness. Tasting notes include chocolate bar and sweet berries.
Black Acres was established in 2018 by Travis Bell in Baltimore's Station North district. The Black owned roastery specialises in single origin and blended coffees, roasting all beans in house in small batches and sourcing ethically from South America and Africa with an emphasis on supply chain transparency. The business is part of Ignite Capital's social entrepreneur network and provides training programmes for employees covering coffee knowledge, customer service, and manufacturing. Alongside its retail locations at Open Works and Lexington Market, the roastery offers local Tuesday afternoon deliveries and direct to consumer subscriptions.
