About This Coffee

This organic-certified coffee is from the Makali Community on the southern slope of Mount Elgon in Uganda, grown at 1700 meters altitude by 140 smallholder farmers. It is a washed processed coffee featuring mixed varieties of Nyasaland, SL-14, and SL-28. The Makali Community is named after the cliffside setting and represents the determination required to grow coffee in rugged terrain. With support from Mountain Harvest, farmers have access to drying sheds, pulping facilities, and clean water for processing, enabling them to process coffee themselves for greater economic benefit. This medium roast features a sweet, polite, and uncontroversial flavor profile.
