Ilse Geyskens, a Belgian living in Colombia, founded Café Velvet in 2014 out of a desire to create a bridge between European coffee culture and the exceptional beans grown at her doorstep in Colombia. Her vision was to establish a space where Colombians could enjoy their own high-quality coffee, prepared with the precision of Belgian standards. The roastery's approach focuses on carefully selected local beans, roasted to highlight their unique profiles for both local enjoyment and export.
