Burundi Kabarore Commune Yandaro
Almanegra CaféAbout This Coffee
A washed Bourbon coffee from the Yandaro washing station in Kayanza province, Kabarore commune, northern Burundi, at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level. The station collects cherries from 22 surrounding villages, where smallholder producers grow traditional Bourbon varieties introduced in the 1930s by monks from Réunion Island. In the cup it offers wide, clear sweetness with notes of caramel, raw sugar, green apple, and orange zest, complemented by a bright lemon acidity and a black tea profile reminiscent of English Breakfast. In darker roasts, milk chocolate, plum, and sweet spice notes emerge with a round, persistent finish.
