Carlos Espresso is a mild espresso from Brazil, specifically from the Cerrado and Mogiana regions at 800-1250 meters altitude. The coffee is 100% Arabica, featuring Mundo Novo and Catuai varieties. It is natural processed by the Cemorrado producer. The Cerrado region is the world's first coffee-growing area to receive a Designated Origin status, comparable to wine regions. This versatile coffee offers flavor notes of nut, caramel, and chocolate.
Maximilian Kranz and Dominik Münstermann founded Bohnenkartell in Essen, building a cafe and roastery whose playful name, meaning "Bean Cartel," belies a serious commitment to specialty coffee. All green coffees meet the SCA Specialty Coffee standard of 80 points or above, and each batch is individually roasted on a drum roaster to preserve the unique aromas and characteristics of its origin. Bohnenkartell also offers SCA certified barista courses, cementing their role as both a quality focused roastery and an educational resource in the Ruhr Valley's specialty coffee scene.
