Kolumbien Geisha Villa Camila Daniel Muñoz

Alt Wien Kaffee

About This Coffee

Geisha is one of the rarest and most sought-after Arabica varieties, known for floral aromatics, clear structure, and exceptional depth. This Colombia Geisha comes from Finca Villa Camila, operated by producer Daniel Muñoz. The farm was specifically built for cultivating Geisha and Pink Bourbon varieties. Cherries are harvested exclusively at full ripeness and undergo an extensive process with long fermentation, multiple washes, and slow drying on raised beds. The flavor profile features tropical fruits, white chocolate, and rose petals, with orange, mango, and honey on the palate. The finish recalls Earl Grey, citrus fruits, and floral notes. This is a modern filter coffee with a short, fast roast that preserves bright, fresh fruit nuances.

Alt Wien Kaffee

Operating since 2000 from Schleifmuhlgasse in Vienna's Wieden district near the Naschmarkt, Alt Wien Kaffee is a roastery with deep roots in the city's coffee tradition. They roast daily in small 12 kilogram batches, and every roast is handpicked following traditional methods, yielding over 40 varieties that span strong and dry to mild and fruity. The lineup includes both Arabica and Robusta blends, with several organic and fair trade certified options among the 14 or so types of coffee available at any time. All beans are roasted naturally without additives, and there is a tasting bar where customers can try freshly roasted coffee on the spot. The roastery appeals equally to traditionalists and more adventurous coffee drinkers, and the knowledgeable baristas are known for guiding people through the range with genuine expertise.
