ETHIOPIA: QUNQANA
Sam James Coffee BarAbout This Coffee
This coffee is from the Bensa region in Sidama, Ethiopia, grown at 1920-2020 meters above sea level. The coffee features Heirloom Varietals and is processed using the honey method, where the beans are sun-dried with their mucilage intact. The Sidama region is known for producing the most coffee at the highest grades in Ethiopia, with fertile highland soils, cool weather, and over 100 inches of rainfall per year causing the coffee to ripen slower than other Ethiopian regions. This medium roast coffee offers flavor notes of apricot, caramel, lemon candy, and jasmine, with tropical fruit-forward characteristics including kiwi fruit.
