This coffee is a single origin Kenya Kii AB from the Kirinyaga region at 1600-1900 meters elevation. Sourced from the Kii factory operated by Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society, serving approximately 1,215 active farmer members who each cultivate around 400 coffee trees on about 1/3 hectare. The coffee features Batian, SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru-11 varieties. It is washed processed, with cherries depulped after sorting, fermented overnight, washed with fresh river water, and sun dried. The cup profile offers blackberry, rhubarb, and caramel notes. Roasted as an espresso roast.

After more than eight years of preparation, Manta Ray Coffee Roasters opened their flagship roastery in Nunawading, Melbourne, in October 2022. The industrial chic space features a visible roasting area framed by large windows, inviting visitors into the process. Drawing on a background in film color grading, the team approaches roasting as a form of creative expression, seeking to reveal depth and character in every batch. Award winners at the 2019 Roasters Smackdown and 2023 ASCA competitions, they offer their signature Outsider Blend alongside rotating single origins and an automated pour over experience at the bar.
