This single origin coffee comes from the Kii Factory in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya, operated by the Rungeto Cooperative Society. The coffee is grown at elevations between 1700-1850 meters above sea level on the foothills of Mt. Kenya with deep, red volcanic soil. It is a fully washed coffee that undergoes strict visual sorting, depulping, overnight fermentation in parchment, and drying on raised tables for 8-14 days. The coffee is AA grade, referring to the larger cherry size. The varieties include SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru-11, and Batian. The cup profile features cherry tomato, blackcurrant, and brown sugar notes with sparkling acidity.

After more than eight years of preparation, Manta Ray Coffee Roasters opened their flagship roastery in Nunawading, Melbourne, in October 2022. The industrial chic space features a visible roasting area framed by large windows, inviting visitors into the process. Drawing on a background in film color grading, the team approaches roasting as a form of creative expression, seeking to reveal depth and character in every batch. Award winners at the 2019 Roasters Smackdown and 2023 ASCA competitions, they offer their signature Outsider Blend alongside rotating single origins and an automated pour over experience at the bar.
