Kenya Kirinyaga Kii Washed (Single Origin Filter)
Manta Ray Coffee RoastersAbout This Coffee
This is a single origin coffee from the Kii Factory in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya, operated by the Rungeto Cooperative Society. It is a fully washed AA grade coffee grown at 1700-1850 meters above sea level in the foothills of Mt. Kenya with deep, red volcanic soil. The varieties include SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru-11, and Batian. The cherries undergo strict visual sorting, depulping, overnight fermentation in parchment, grading, and drying on raised tables for 8-14 days until reaching 10.6% moisture content. The processing uses recycled water and coffee pulp is transformed into fertilizer. This filter roast coffee features tasting notes of cherry tomato, blackcurrant, and brown sugar with sparkling acidity.
