About This Coffee

This coffee is a single origin peaberry from Marimira Factory in Kenya, Murang'a region at 1400-1600 meters altitude. It is a washed processing method involving 16–18 hour fermentation in cement tanks and slow drying on raised African beds. The coffee features a creamy and chocolatey profile, smooth full body, brown sugar sweetness, and vibrant malic acidity reminiscent of green apple, offering a bright and balanced cup with a refreshing finish.

49th Parallel has been a heavyweight in the Vancouver coffee scene since 2004, when brothers Vince and Michael Piccolo set out to bring world-class specialty coffee to the West Coast before it was trendy. Their roasting style is famous for its consistency and balance; they avoid the ultra-light, acidic "lemon juice" profiles in favor of developing sweetness and body that appeals to both coffee nerds and casual drinkers.
