About This Coffee

This decaffeinated coffee is a Pink Bourbon variety from Villamaria in the Caldas region of Colombia, sourced from smallholder farmers and imported by Raw Material. The cherries are transported to a drying facility called Jamaica, located several hundred meters downhill from the producers. The coffee undergoes an anoxic washed process followed by Ethyl Acetate (EA) decaffeination, a sugar cane-based decaffeination method. In this process, coffee beans are moistened with water and EA is circulated to bind with and extract caffeine while preserving flavor compounds. The EA residue is then removed by steaming.
