About This Coffee

This coffee is traceable to 35 small-holder farmers in Ortega, Tolima, Colombia. The farmers are part of the Cafe Agrario cooperative, which was formed in 2014 and received organic certification in 2020. The lot consists of Caturra and Typica varieties grown at 1830 meters altitude. Cherries are picked every 20 days during harvest, with premiums paid at the mill for perfectly ripe cherries. The coffee is washed process: pulped, fermented in water for 24 hours, washed three times, and dried on raised beds. Flavor notes include tart red fruit like cherry and cranberry, lemon, starfruit, with a hazelnut cream finish.
