About This Coffee

This coffee comes from Sotará in the Cauca highlands of southern Colombia, grown at 1,400–2,000 m and processed at the Manos Juntas micromill operated by Banexport. The lot is Castillo variety processed as an anaerobic natural (five days anaerobic fermentation with nitrogen, dried 30–45 days). Tasting notes include cocoa nibs, cinnamon and dried rose with winey acidity, mild sugary sweetness, and a deep, structured, long finish. Roast labeled OMNI, suitable for filter and espresso.

Founded in 2015 by Tobias Stehle and Michael Menrad, District Five operates as Ingolstadt's first specialty coffee roastery. The production facility sits in nearby Manching. The roastery maintains direct relationships with South American producers and holds organic certification.
