About This Coffee

This Pink Bourbon coffee is sourced from Sebastián Ramírez, founder of the El Placer Farms project in Colombia. The coffee grows at approximately 1,800 meters altitude and undergoes an experimental co-fermentation process with Concord grapes. The processing method involves 72 hours of natural carbonic maceration followed by 120 hours of honey processing. The El Placer Farms project focuses on sustainability, using innovative irrigation systems and environmentally friendly processing methods to minimize ecological impact. The project aims to establish direct connections between coffee producers and roasters by eliminating intermediaries. This coffee features intense, bold flavor characteristics with distinct fruit notes.

Coffee Pirates

Werner Savernik and Evelyn Priesch founded Coffee Pirates in 2012, establishing one of the first organic-certified third-wave roasteries in Vienna. Their philosophy is a fight against bad coffee, aiming to reintroduce the idea of roasting as a wonderful craft that highlights the unique flavors of different origins. They are deeply committed to building direct, long-term relationships with the farmers and cooperatives they source from.
