Burundi Monge Colina Murambi
Almanegra CaféAbout This Coffee
This coffee originates from the Mutambu commune, near the Monge Natural Reserve, in the Bujumbura region of Burundi. The cherries are grown on steep hillsides surrounding the washing station at altitudes above 2,000 meters. The lot is named after Murambi, one of four hills supplying the beneficio station, with producer Kedir Hassan. Processed using the traditional fully washed method — depulped with a three-disc machine, fermented in water, sorted in cement channels, and dried on raised beds. The Bourbon variety cup profile offers a honey-like body with bright, clean flavors of raw sugar, honey, black tea, sweet spices, clove, and chamomile, with a lively orange peel acidity and a pleasant tannic finish.
