About This Coffee

A washed coffee from the Nyeri district of Kenya, sourced from smallholder farmers processing at Gichathaini Factory near Karatina Town. Grown at 1,600–1,900 meters altitude on red volcanic soil between Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare mountains. The coffee is produced from SL28 and SL34 varieties, hand-picked at full ripeness, fermented in water tanks fed by the Ragati River, and dried on raised African beds. Flavor profile features currant jam, lime, and syrupy body.

RepublicThis Ostrava based family roastery was founded in 2017 by husband and wife duo Petr and Marie, who previously worked as baristas at Berlin's Five Elephant cafe. What started as a small family business with dad roasting and mom tasting while the kids watched has grown to a team of over 10 people with a Prague showroom opening in Bubenč. They roast on an American made five pound Diedrich IR-5 roaster with quality as their number one priority, offering regularly rotating harvests from around the world. Their Mothership espresso blend has become beloved by baristas and home enthusiasts for its full creamy body and milk chocolate flavor.
