Franz is a medium-dark espresso blend composed of 70% Arabica and 30% Robusta, both from Mexico, Chiapas region. The Arabica (Castillo variety) is grown at 1550–1750 m altitude, and the Robusta (Romex Canephora) at 900 m, sourced from Finca Fulda via Rainer Böhme. The blend also incorporates beans from the El Trebol women's cooperative in Colombia. Both components are washed-processed. Flavor notes include dark chocolate and toasted almonds, with a full-bodied, strong character, velvety mouthfeel, and a subtle sweetness of brown sugar.
